NOVI, MI – BrassCraft Manufacturing, the leading manufacturer of plumbing and flow control products used in new construction and the repair/remodel markets, today announced it has awarded the 2014 Robert M. Zell Award to Melanie Hanaway, Senior Buyer in its company supply chain team. Created in honor of company founder, Robert M. Zell, the designation recognizes individuals who thrive within the spirit on which Zell originally founded the company: “The Spirit of Quality and Innovation.”

“The Robert M. Zell Award is all about the spirit and the passion people have for their work, for the company and for their teammates,” said Mark Labadie, Vice President, Information Systems. “In 2014, many worthy candidates were considered for this prestigious award. The selection committee had a difficult time choosing this years’ winner, but when the process was complete, Melanie was ultimately selected. She is a worthy recipient of this recognition.”

BrassCraft recognizes Melanie both for her tangible contributions to the organization, as well as for the professional qualities that she represents in being a positive, proactive team member who embraces challenges and change.

Runner-up for the award went to Michael Latt, BrassCraft Corona. Honorable mention went to the following candidates: Pat Franklin and Michael Norwood, BrassCraft Novi; Leslie Ringheiser, BrassCraft Cobra; and, Mark Oldani, BrassCraft Brownstown.
